Updated on September 1, 2017

Do you text more? Here’s a simple trick to keep track of the number of characters that you typed in a text message and avoid paying the extra charge to your mobile service provider (As you know, exceeding 160 characters of a text message will be considered as a multiple SMS). You can enable the Character count in your iPhone, which is a feature available in the message settings. Here’s how you can enable the Character count in iPhone,

1. Open the “Settings” app

2. Scroll down and select the “Messages”

3. Under the heading “SMS/MMS”, slide the “Character Count” On.

Tap "Settings data-lazy-srcset=Messages>Character count"” width=”445″ height=”339″ />
Tap "Settings>Messages>Character count"

That’s it! You can find an active Character count above the send button. Also, Check out the video below from Business Insider on “Enabling Character count in iPhone”.
