Facebook posts to have Hate button very soon

Updated on September 1, 2017

Facebook study says, people hate more than what they like on the Internet. Though it sounds quite sad, but Facebook has come up with an idea to introduce a “Hate” button. According to the reports, Facebook predicts “Hate” button to become more popular than a “Like” button.

According to the Facebook’s S-1 filing (check out the image below), currently the users generate 2.7 billion likes and comments per day. Facebook predicts that the introduction of “Hate” button would double that number. The S-1 filing has also pointed out that the popular Facebook pages like Lady Gaga, Manchester United, Disney have gained 20 million likes.

When the “Like” button was announced, Mark predicted that there would be 1 billions likes across the internet in less than 24 hours. According to the sources, Mark is expecting over 2 million “Hates” per day.

I found this news interesting and shared it with my friend. “Hate button! No, that doesn’t sound professional”, says my friend. She also said that “Uncool” or “Dislike” would be more appropriate than “Hate”.

There’s also an internal debate on whether the new button should be called “Hate” or “Dislike”, says Facebook.

Facebook also plans to bombard its site with more buttons like “Meh”, “Love”, “Who Cares”.  But as of now, “Hate” button is likely to feature very soon.
Have a look at the stats mentioned in Facebook’s S-1 Filing.
