Before we start what is “God mode“?. God mode is an windows trick developed by Microsoft development team. It allows you to access all the windows settings in a single folder without needing to browse to control panel or clicking multiple folders. Sounds bit fussy right?. Never mind, let me give an example. What if i want to “Add a printer” to my computer. The steps involved are,
- Click start button
- Click control panel
- Click “Devices and printers”
- Click “Add printer”.
So it took me four clicks to access the “Add printer” dialog box. Whereas in “God Mode”, it takes you to “Add printer” dialog box within two clicks. Hope you are not fussy now!.
Anyways, here is the way to do that,
- Create a folder in a specific format as “show_me_all_settings.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}“. Note: “show_me_all_settings”, the folder name can be of your wish. e.g “My_special_control_panel”. But “{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}”, has to be exactly same. So never take risk of typing it, just copy and paste it including the curly braces.
- After your folder has been created, you can see the folder icon changed to “settings” icon.
- Now double click the folder, i know you will be surprised to see all the windows settings being listed there. Change the settings you want, just in a matter of two clicks.
Now, i will leave it to you to try and add the printer.
OOPS!, heard from friend that tip might not work on 64 bit version of windows vista. Try at your risk. In case, if you face problem, then the solution is to boot in safe mode and delete the god mode folder.
