Apple aims to stop Phone Theft via Activation Lock feature in iOS 7

Updated on September 1, 2017

Apple seems to have responded to the US government’s concern over the serious phone theft in the country. The company announced iOS 7 recently, which sports an Activation Lock feature. When the feature is enabled, if someone steals your mobile phone and tries to disable ‘Find My iPhone’ feature, will not be able to activate the device on a wireless carrier. The Activation Lock is much more powerful, that the thief cannot activate the device even if he decides to wipe the phone completely; he’ll have to enter your Apple ID and password to activate it. So it means, someone has to hack your Apple ID before stealing your mobile phone. How secure is that?
