How to Encrypt & Password protect JPG, PNG, BMP images using PhotoCrypt?

PhotoCrypt, a Windows utility that can help you to encrypt your personal photos and images. The tool supports image formats like JPEG, PNG, BMP, which are less than 12MB in size. PhotoCrypt lets you encrypt and decrypt images using the simple interface.

How to encrypt an image?

In order to encrypt an image, browse the image via the application’s interface (Encrypt tab) and choose an encryption password. You can also choose to remove the original image, after the encryption is successful. All the converted images will be stored in the name of your image appended with “.bin”.

How to decrypt an image?

The encrypted image can be decrypted only using PhotoCrypt. The process is similar to the encryption, you need to browse the encrypted image via the application’s interface (Decrypt tab) and enter the password used for encryption and click “Decrypt” button. You can also choose to delete the encrypted source file.

PhotoCrypt is pretty good in its functionality. But be cautioned – since the encryption and decryption process will modify the image, it can sometimes corrupt the source files.
