How to enable Flash on Android Kitkat phones without rooting

Although most of the websites are shifting to HTML5 environment and avoiding Flash, there are actually lot more websites in the internet which require Flash, to be loaded and displayed correctly. If you have Android 4.4 Kitkat, and not able to view few of your favorite websites as they are on other device, because Flash comes disabled by default – with no easy way to turn it on again, here is some help.

Note : The following procedure needs no root access. Also, before proceeding to the steps below, make sure you have allowed the installation of apks from unknown sources(side-loading). To do that, SettingsSecurity > Enable check box which says “Unknown sources”.

  1. From Google Play Store install Dolphin Browser.
  2. Ensure that Dolphin Jetpack is installed. It should be done by default, else you need to install the Jetpack and enable it.
  3. Uninstall Adobe Flash if installed already. (Settings > Apps > See if Flash appears in the list. If, yes click and unistall it).
  4. Download the hacked Adobe Flash APK.
  5. Go to downloads and with your file manager install the downloaded APK.
  6. Open Dolphin Browser. Menu > SettingsWeb Content > Enable Flash Content.
