Create Beautiful Presentations that run on Any device – Deck One Touch Presentation App

Updated on September 1, 2017

PPTs, PPTs, PPTs everywhere! Whether it’s a college presentation or a conference presentation, it’s inevitable to use slides, layouts, transition effects, and what have you! We already have a hard time phrasing our content. Added to that is the overhead of design. Also, we cannot be demanded to have a strong sense of aesthetics, we may not know what layout or what transition effects come across as pleasant and convincing.

With portable devices becoming our every day’s mini pc, it becomes difficult to create presentations over, say, mobile phones. Smaller screens and touch interface limits a lot of things we could normally do over a laptop or pc. But portable devices are what’s surging all over the world, not just for the consumers but for the professionals. Every single day, many businesses employ mobile devices for even the minimal aspects such as delivering power packed presentations to clinch a sale and drive a business showcase. Mobile devices have become more than just media consumption outlets.

The Bangalore start-up Deck.in provides an amazing solution to both the problems above. Type in deck.in in your browser to begin. Sign in with a social networking account that you have or if you prefer from linking it to other accounts, register for a new account. This will open a new Deck for yourself. You can create presentations and keep stacking them in your deck.

There are really just three steps to creating your awesome presentation.

  1. Click on ‘+Create’. This takes you to a simple document editor. Give your presentation a name, enter in the titles and the contents of the slides. You can use the ‘present’ button at any point, but in this first step, it is quite useless as we haven’t created a layout yet. At this stage, you can add graphical representations and pictures to support the list of points you type in.
  2. Choose ‘Style’. This allows you to choose from various aesthetic themes. Choose the one that meets your purpose, be it professional, stylish or casual. For each Style you have an option to ‘preview’ and to ‘play’ before you actually use it for your presentation.
  3. ‘Present’ displays your finished presentation. Yes, it is that simple!

The other options you may see on the screen are ‘Save’, ‘Export’ and ‘Publish’ which are as straightforward as they look. The option ‘universal font’ makes it easy for foreign languages to be used in the presentations.

Let’s now move on to solving the mobile-device issue. The start-up has now launched an application available in Google Play store and iOS called ‘Deck’. Now people without expertise in design can create beautiful presentations over their portable devices. Analogous to the website, all you have to do in the app is to slap up some text in a minimalist editor as a series of points and include images and diagrams. Proceed to choosing the theme and rendering the presentation. How cool is that?
