Deleting Photos in Facebook does not really delete them

Updated on September 1, 2017

Do you want to delete the photos in Facebook? Just go ahead and delete them, but they are not really deleted from Facebook. Facebook just removes the photos from your profile but not from the their servers. Shockingly the photos that were deleted years ago are still accessible via the direct links. The social networking giant has admitted that its older systems that were using the content delivery networks does not delete the data in a reasonable time, but they are working on newer system which should do the delete process quickly.

This problem is not new, its quite few years old, according to the post in Arstechnica.com. The content deletion issue was identified during the year 2009 and still the problem continues.

It’s hard to believe that Facebook hasn’t fixed the issue even after years. Privacy! is still a questionable term in the social networking generation.
